- IC Tools Software Development Engineer
- In this position, you will develop IC design tools for physical design and analysis of Hewlett-Packard's most advanced ICs. You'll work with customers to understand and incorporate new requirements and implement solutions in Hewlett-Packard's hierarchical design system, as well as with some of the best designers in the industry to provide leading-edge capability for Deep SubMicron IC design. Duties include learning Hewlett-Packard's advanced IC physical design system and methods, understanding new customer requirements, and designing and incorporating new capabilities. Additionally, you'll assure the smooth transition of software to Hewlett-Packard's IC design centers, and work with designers to jointly solve problems and achieve a quality solution.
- Requires a BS in CE or equivalent with expertise in C++ and UNIX; MS or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred. Experience in or desire to learn elements of IC design and verification essential, as is the desire to work with IC designers to achieve solutions. The ability to work in a high-performance team to achieve joint goals is critical. Familiarity with VLSI design and CAD tools desired.
